and suddenly the canvas and paints that had been calling my name were quieted as I began to work.
Papers that I had been saving for a special project seemed perfect for today. I used gel medium to attach a background to my canvas. Then I sketched my girl, painted her face, cut out her wings and dress, and attached them. I added a birdcage and distressed the papers I had used.
I was a bit worried about her hair, but I finally got that done, adding highlights then taking them away. Then, jewelry was added. Classic pearl.
Last night I mentioned to my husband that I just might paint our bathroom today. Well, I DID paint, didn't I? And between you and me... this was a lot more fun.

Roban how delightful that you reached for the paper and not venture into the bathroom....well not for painting anyway!
You have much talent in this area too my friend. Your soul must have been rejoicing as this lovely girl unfolded.

i should reach for paper! but i just know that its not going to end up anything even remotely as delightful as this.
just so happy to see the emerging steps to your amazing piece .. you did the right thing answering the canvas and paint!!
She is absolutely beautiful! She has such a dreamy expression on her face. With the two love birds in the cage, I wonder if she is thinking of someone in particular?
A beauty created and you are gifted!
What a lovely girl you created. Nice that you showed her in steps as she came to life. Yes, more fun than painting a bathroom!
