Breakfast... for moi?

Hannah's self-portrait....

My daughter made my breakfast today. A toasted and buttered English muffin stacked with a poached egg and a slice of cheese with a little seasoning sprinkled on top.

I make these for breakfast quite often, but hers tasted so much better. A buttery-delicious welcome to a new day....

And for those of you with smaller children still running around, your time will come. They call these the teen years. I call them wonderful... at least most of the time!

My 9 year old makes pancakes almost everyday! Can't believe it...but she is darn good at, and who am I to stop a chef in the making...lol.

Isn't it the best when kids become self-sufficient?

p.s. beautiful photo of your daughter!

Caitlin is still in the frozen pizza, easy mac stage, but that is fine by me. She helps with her brother and that is the best part.

I love the teen years too! Really talking to teens is one of my favorite things to do, and when they help out of their own accord, it makes me smile all day :) Beautiful picture of your daughter too!

When you came to my photoblog, you mentioned my mentoring one. I do enjoy talking about teaching very much. My email is Kymentor@gmail.com, if you want to talk. :)

Food ALWAYS tastes better when someone else makes it and that sure sounded like a delicious breakfast...I think I will try it tomorrow.
I also agree with the other comments....beautiful photo.

She's so sweet, you're so sweet, it was all so sweet! I cannot poach an egg so I am in awe (and possibly drooling a little at the thought of eating it). Wolf thinks he has discovered a way that I can't muck it up but I figure if I just plead dumb each time I need a poached egg he'll do it for me. Eggs benedict is my favourite cafe breakfast. YUM.

Tell Hannah that daddy longlegs are good because they are one of the few predators of redback spiders, the bigger they are the bigger the redback they can kill... although that is probably a problem you don't have to worry about.
*wanders away singing "redback on the toilet seat"*

Oh, your daughter is so beautiful. It sounds like she is also lovely on the inside, where it counts. How wonderful.
