Mosaic Monday: Hilton Head Island

My summer slipped quietly away this past week....
It didn't happen immediately.
It just slowly slipped past
as clouds drifted by
and playful waves lapped onto the shore.
Sitting under a blue umbrella,
I looked out over the ocean
and saw diamonds glittering
on the slate blue sea.
I watched birds glide with ease
on currents of ocean air.
truly free
I let the wind dance in my hair.
I let the sun warm my face.
And I read and relaxed and dreamed good things
as my summer slipped away.

Very soft and artistic Mosaic Roban. There is something so peaceful about the colour blue.

Your summer is slipping away BUT my summer is drifting forward. If it is anything like you have described in the beautiful poem I will be in seventh heaven!

Ahhh diamonds glittering on the slate blue sea.....

Lots of love

I feel like summer is slipping away too... With school starting in August now! I have always wanted to visit Hilton Head... someday in person... pretty mosaic! Very relaxing.

Love the poem and pictures. It's funny I never knew you were so creative and that we had so many similar interests when we worked together! Sorry your summer is almost over. Now that I don't work, everyday is pretty much the same, just with different weather. Hope this school year is a good one for you!

I love the mosaic and poem. I went to a workshop on documenting and assessing limited English proficiency students. It made school starting soon so real.

Love the verse -- love the mosaic -- and love that line of chairs on the beach; it looks so beautiful, all of it. Thanks!

Wonderful - both the poem and the images. I'm feeling a bit melancholy about summer as well. Very nice mosaic!

Lovely. You captured it. Exactly the way our summer felt too. (Minus the exotic trip to Hilton Head). :) But I so identify with the slipping away....

I have a home down on Hilton Head and this past weekend I was down to the house and I found the sun going down by 8:30 and felt the summer is slipping past way to quickly. Loved your poem but for some reason I can't view the mosaic today???

It is really slipping. I like to say that motherhood and summer are holding hands. They both steal time from us in so many ways.

Beautiful poem, of course.
