I have a thing for ribbon. If I even see a glimpse of ribbon in a store, I tend to make a beeline straight to it, which is exactly how this pretty green thing made its way into my buggy not too long ago. I don't always have anything in particular in mind to do with ribbon that I buy. I can just rest assured that there will be some reason to use it at some point before I die. Luckily, the ribbon didn't have to be placed in cold storage to protect it from the natural process of aging. I came up with a way to use the ribbon to create a little bit of joy.

My mentor at the school where I work retired this past year and handed down to me a beautiful 'school' wreath for my classroom door. My room is committed to a blue and green color scheme, so the ribbon is about to be put to work as I give the wreath a little bit of a blue/green makeover. I'll post a picture soon to show you how it turns out.

In the meantime, how are you creating your own joy?

You really stopped me in my tracks with that question..."What am I doing to create my joy" I have been studying and reading so much lately that after reflecting on your question I realized I have not been creating anything....Today is the day thanks to you...I am off to create...

But before I go, I too love ribbon and so glad you quickly found a use for your gorgeous green ribbon....I love it when that happens....

It's been a long, hard summer so we have had to work at creating joy and finding it in the little things. Evening walks, morning journal time, homemade noodle making, daily hugs and "I love you"'s. Really, it's in the little things for me right now. Lots of little joys.

I love that you adore ribbon so much. Ribbon has a way of brightening things up don't you think/

Creating joy...yes we do create it ourselves. I love this question.

I am creating joy by embracing the last few days that Dustin and I have together before he goes back to work. Laughing, cooking dinner, taking photos, spending as much time together as possible. It is delightful.

I'm so glad that you decided to create some joy! It's so easy to let busy schedules and to-do lists dictate how we spend our time. I know that I have to make time, sometimes, when I get too caught up in the day-to-day.

This made me smile. I'm drawn to people who appreciate the little things-this is beautiful ribbon. To a set your question-if it makes me smile-then I've created joy! Xo
